Liebe Freunde,

fast ist es zu Ende das Jahr 2013 und ich möchte mich für die Unterstützung und das Interesse an mechanischen Uhren bedanken, wir werden uns sicherlich bemühen auch im kommenden Jahr unser Bestes zu geben.

Heute möchte ich Euch das Allerbeste im Leben wünschen, Viel Gesundheit, den größtmöglichen Erfolg, also kurz eine wunderbare ZEIT im Jahr 2014!!!

ARCHIDES presents „Mystery of art and time“

The mystical in art over the course of time

If art and mysticism move clocks forward as well as shape the times, then there is an equivalent in this interplay to a certain mysterious encounter, something which can be experienced in this year´s ARCHIDES Wohnraumuhren Festival Exhibition. „Mystery of art & time“ features art and timepiece objects of international artists like Julia Bugueva, Viktoria Merki, Atelier Knesebeck and Konstantin Chaykin as well as PITA Barcelona and Thomas Salzburger, presented here for the first time in Austria. Once again, the Messerklinger brothers signalise that ARCHIDES is more than just a specialised dealer for exclusive clocks – but a stage to exhibit the art, architecture and design of our time.

The clock comes with an indication of second, minute and hour, a  modified amant escapement, turnable minute and hour clock face and a phase of moon to the fore which has to be corrected every 128 years.

It has a power reserve of two months. The clock isattached to a column and protected from dust by a glass cover. the clock consists of gold-plated, blue glass, lapis lazuli and cap juwels.

Reflecting on clocks, inventions, works of art, time

What a chance to take part in the manufacturing of a clock!

Writing down notes on a piece of paper, holding on to the ideas, approaching to each other reality and inspiration. Subordinating myself to the play of cogwheels and levers, producing all components myself, learning new techniques – unknown ways open, ideas flash through my mind.

I love this process and I like all the difficulties I have to cope with because they do not occur by chance. Manufacturing a clock means to me feeling life and adventure. I respect all that has been invented so far – but I do not respect the idea that nothing is unknown. Therefore I do not stop searching for surprises, new forms, unknown movements and presentations. The realization of imagination.

Clocks have entered my world of kinetic art and sounds and they remain there. All my works of art are unique and I do not accept any repetition, in no case, there is enough fantasy, inspiration, enthusiasm and motivation.

Standard Sea Clock

Die Standard Sea Clock (Seeuhr) war die erste von Sinclair Harding erschaffenen Sea Clock. Das urspüngliche Design wurde von Richard Good vorgestellt und von Mike Harding in den 1980er Jahren modifiziert.

1999 wurden mehrere Modifizierungen am Uhrwerk als ein Teil einer duaerhaften Weiterenticklung von Sinclair Harding eingeführt. Die Hauptmodifizierung war die Hinzufügung einer mit Kette angetriebenen Schnecke, eine weitere Erfindung John Harrison’s, welche eine sofortige Verbesserung der Qualität der Zeitmessung mitbringt und zugleich wichtig ist für eine Uhr im „Geiste von John Harrison“.

Alle Uhrwerkeigenschaften der Moonhase Seeuhr, mit der offensichtlichen Ausnahme des Moonphase-Zifferblattes, werden in dieser Uhr vereinigt.

‚HIS‘ oder ‚HER’S‘

Zwei Stile der Uhr sind verfügbar, die von Sinclair Harding „HIS“ und „HER’S“ genannt werden. Wie mit allen Sinclair Harding Uhren können mehrere Auswahlen an Verarbeitungen und Materialien (Sockel) angegeben werden, um eine individuelle Uhr selbst gestalten zu können.

Jede Uhr ist mit einer individuellen Seriennummer versehen und wird durch einen Glassturz geschützt (nicht abgebildet). Das wöchentliche Aufziehen der Uhr kann ohne die Abnahme des Glassturzes bewerkstelligt werden.
